My name is Tetsuya GOTANI. I am Japanese and live in France.

I started Origami when I was little like other Japanese children but maybe I was more passionate about Origami than other children.

 

I took up Origami after settling in France.

I was asked to teach Japanese games to French children and I taught them origami.

 

By folding paper with the children, my passion for Origami returned. Then I discovered the masterpieces of great pioneers and young masters and realized that there are several methods of creating origami.

 

In 2009, I started creating my own models.

I learned a lot about creation especially with Mr. Meguro's website, the books "Genuine Origami" by Mr. Maekawa and "Origami Fantasy" by Mr. Kawahata.

 

In 2019, My first origami book "Origamix theory & challenges" was published by Origami Shop. It is a mixture of dinosaurs, animals, birds and fish. The unique point of this book is to try to show my method of creating Origami and the process of creating each work.
